No matter how small the risk, it can blow up in your face without proper management.

Risk1.gif (1787 bytes)So many factors can impact on a project's viability. The more common ones relate to the experience of the project team ... the use of new technologies and working methods ... It's size and scope.

Less obvious ... but as important are ... the status of a project within the business strategy ... the involvement of end users and customers ... Type of implementation and Implementation and Support.

Risk should be monitored throughout the lifecycle of the project ... things change.

We will work with you to:

  • Identify Risk
  • Assess your Exposure to Risk
  • Plan Risk Triggers ... Escalation Procedures
  • Chose which Risks to Manage
  • Develop Action and Mitigation Plans
  • Monitor Triggers ... Act
  • Risks don't go away ... this process is on-going

One of the most common mistakes that Project Managers often make is to over-estimate resource availability ... and/or forget to take skill levels into account.

One company we know in the States has a no dangerous sports pact with it's key project members.

If you are dealing with new tools, technologies and methodologies for the first time ... The learning curve could add 30 - 50% to a project's duration and cost.

I know it sounds silly ... but make sure that you have included everyone in the project ... Marketing, Legal, Operations, Users.

You may well have the additional responsibility of managing external consultants and contract staff ... You may have project members from multiple sites.
